Binh Duong (VNA) -The 10th Binh Duong International Women CyclingTournament –Biwase Cup 2020 kicked off in the southern province ofBinh Duong on February 28.

The tournament brought together 105cyclists of 10 teams, namely Thailand, Taiwan (China), Velofit Australia,Biwase (Binh Duong), Con Voi Binh Duong brick and fertiliser company, Loc TroiGroup JSC, Gao hat ngoc troi, Dong Thap lottery company, Vinh Long, Mega MarketHo Chi Minh City and Can Tho city.

Speaking at the opening ceremony,Nguyen Van Thien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Binh Duong Water – EnvironmentJoint Stock Company (Biwase), said as the whole world is sparing no efforts tofight the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19),many activities, including sport tournament events have been cancelled.

With the endeavours of theorganisers, the 10th Binh Duong International Women CyclingTournament – Biwase Cup 2020 was being held as scheduled with a message“Be strong to work, be strong to win ourselves and win the threats of COVID-19”he added.

Running from February 28 to March 8,the tournament features ten stages with a total length of 1,051 km, the longestever, running through Binh Duong New City, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, NinhThuan, Binh Thuan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau./.
