The plant,which has a daily capacity of 30,000 cu.m, was built at a total cost of519 billion VND ( 24.7 million USD), of which 464 billion VND (21.8million USD) came from the World Bank.
General Director of theBinh Duong Water Supply and Environment Co. Ltd Nguyen Van Thien said,the station supplies clean water for residential areas outside andbusinesses inside the My Phuoc Industrial Zone, the Viet HuongIndustrial Zone No. 2, and the Ascendas – Protrade Singapore High-techZone.
Water taken from the Dong Nai river is treated withadvanced technologies at the facility before sending to pipelines, thecompany said.
Up to 97.5 percent of the province’s population in rural areas had access to water supply meeting clean water standards.
The province, located in Vietnam’s southern key economic region,which also encompasses Ho Chi Minh City and six other provinces, isincreasingly known as a processing hub.-VNA
