Binh Phuoc: rare otters handed over to rescue centre

Two Asian small-clawed otters weighing 2.4 kg each on April 10 were handed over to a centre for animal rescue, conservation and development under the Bu Gia Map National Park in the southern province of Binh Phuoc.

Binh Phuoc (VNA) – Two Asian small-clawed ottersweighing 2.4 kg each on April 10 were handed over to a centre for animalrescue, conservation and development under the Bu Gia Map National Park in the southernprovince of Binh Phuoc.

Earlier, in the morning of the same day, a resident in LocNinh town found the otters eating fish in her pond. After being caught, theanimals were brought to local competent agencies so that they can be releasedback to the wild.

Asian small-clawed otter (Aonyx cinereus) belongs to GroupIB of rare wild animals restricted from being held in captivity, hunted andused for commercial purposes./.

Vietnam pioneers use of AI and remote se♒nsing to monitor seawater quality

According to Dr. Vu Anh Tuan, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Space Centre and head of the project, this is the first study in Vietnam to simultaneously employ Sentinel-2 satellite data, advanced machine learning algorithms, and the Google Earth Engine (GEE) cloud computing platform to model and monitor key seawater quality parameters.
