Binh Phuoc: S’tieng ethnic families receive charity houses

As many as 16 families of S’tieng ethnic minority group with difficult background in Bu Gia Map district of Binh Phuoc province have been presented with house worth over 800 million VND in total.

Binh Phuoc (VNA)- As many as 16 families of S’tieng ethnic minority group with difficult background in Bu Gia Map district of the southern province of Binh Phuoc were presented witꦕh house worth over 800 million VND in total at a ceremony on December 12.

The expense for building the houses was funded by businesses, the Bu Gia Map district People’s Committee and the Economic - Defence Unit 778 of Military Zone 7.
The houses were built in the form of a resettlement with electricity and water supply, roads and sport ground. On the occasion, each beneficiary household was also provided with a breeding cow to help them improve income.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Luan, Political Commissar of the Economic - Defence Unit 778 of Military Zone 7 said he hopes the assistance will facilitate beneficiaries’ production and economic development, contributing to promoting new-style rural area building movement in the locality. Secretary of Bu Gia Map district Party Committee Tran Quang Ty reported that ethnic minority households account for 62 percent of all the poor families in the district. He affirmed the district authority will continue calling for support from enterprises and sponsors to further assist local disadvantaged families, while giving them guidance to develop new cultivation and breeding models in the coming time.-VNA
