Biogas project benefits farmers in Gia Lai

The Central Highlands province of Gia Lai has aided over 1,140 households engaging in poultry breeding to build biogas spherical tanks to produce green energy for their daily use.

The biogas is produced from the decomposition process of animal and plant waste in the absence of oxygen.

The composite tanks are not only economically efficient but also environmentally friendly.

Carried out by the provincial agriculture encouragement centre since2009, the biogas development project has helped reduce deforestation andgreenhouse gas emissions.

With more than 14,000buffalos, 350,000 cows and 430,000 pigs along with tens of millions offowls, the province promotes the application of this model, especiallyin ethnic minority inhabited areas.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
