Bus rapid transit No.1 carries over 4.98 mln passengers in a year

Hanoi (VNA) – The Yen Nghia bus station - Kim MaBus Rapid Transit (BRT) No.1, the first of its kind in Vietnam, has carriedmore than 4.98 million passengers since its operation on January 1, 2017.
It was unveiled by the municipal Transport Department’s HanoiPublic Transport Management and Operation Centre during a meeting in thecapital city on February 1.
There were 17,465 passengers per peak day, or 68.8 ones per peakhour while 30.7 and 18.8 passengers were recorded per usual and off-peak hour,respectively.
The number of passengers using monthly pass for the route isthe highest compared to those travelling on other routes, reaching an averageof 2,100 per month, up 3 percent from the plan and accounting for nearly 6.8percent of the total number of one-route monthly pass users.
A majority of passengers are satisfied with the service,saying that it is more convenient than other routes.-VNA
An overall check was carried out and a document was signed in Hanoi on May 31 to mark the completion of 21 stations designed for the local bus rapid transport (BRT) system.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked centrally-run agencies to create all favourable conditions for the capital city of Hanoi to develop its transport infrastructure to ease traffic congestions.
The Hanoi Department of Transport has proposed launching a second BRT route connecting Lang – Hoa Lac hi-tech zone and Kim Ma street, Dep. Director of the Department Ngo Manh Tuan said on February 21.
Hanoi’s Transport Department and the Hanoi Transport Corporation have proposed to the municipal People’s Committee a pilot programme on using an electronic transportation cards on BRT route 01, connecting Kim Ma and Yen Nghia bus stations.

A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
