The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has suggested the Ministry of Transport allow it to take the initiative in increasing flights, starting from January 14, to meet growing demand as the Lunar New Year (Tet) - the longest and biggest traditional festival of Vietnam - is approaching.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) hassuggested the Ministry of Transport allow it to take the initiative in increasing flights, starting from January 14, to meet growing demandas the Lunar New Year (Tet) - the longest and biggest traditional festival of Vietnam - is approaching.

The CAAV’s statisticsshowed that from December 29, 2021 to January 10, 2022, Vietnamese airlines operated 4,480 flights carrying over 547,000 passengers, achieving an average seat occupancyof 64 percent.

Demand for flights onthe Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route and between Ho Chi Minh City and CentralHighlands, central and northern provinces during the period rebounded with aseat occupancy of over 70 percent.

Airlines reported that flightreservation⛄s have reached over 50 percent, and sometimes even more than 90percent./.
