Hanoi (VNA) – Cambodia and Chinahave agreed to build a mechanism to enhance bilateral cooperation in security,counter-terrorism and cybercrime prevention.

The agreement was reached by Cambodian ForeignMinister Prak Sokhonn and director-general of the Department of ExternalSecurity Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Liu Guangyuan during theirmeeting in Cambodia on December 9, according to Xinhua.

According to spokesman of Cambodia’s ForeignMinistry Chum Sounry, Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed his support for themechanism and highly valued the sound cooperative ties between the twocountries across the fields, particularly economics, trade, investment, andtourism.

The Minister said the high-level delegationvisits of the two nations in 2016 have contributed to strengthening thebilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Meanwhile, the Chinese official stressed thathis visit is intended to further bilateral collaboration in security./.
