Tay Ninh (VNA) – Customs officers arrested a Cambodian woman for attempting to smuggle five kilogrammes of crystal methaphetamine into Vietnam through Moc Bai international border gate in the southwestern province of Tay Ninh on October 27.

Hai Dieb, a 26-year-old from Phnom Penh, was travelling to Ho Chi Minh City by coach when she was stopped at 10:15am the same day by customs officers at the Moc Bai border gate, who found her suitcase suspicious.

The officers discovered a hidden compartment in the case containing five multilayer plastic bags of crystal meth with the help of sniffer dogs.

Dieb said that her husband, OgBu Oliver Ejike, a 30-year-old Nigerian man, had asked her to take the suitcase to a person in Ho Chi Minh City. He also told her it contained  crystal meth and that she would be paid 150 USD for her part.
