Cambodian generals get PhD degrees in Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) – The Political Academy,under the Ministry of Defence, held a ceremony to present PhD degreecertificates to General Neang Phat and General Phorn Nara, high-rankingofficers of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, in Hanoi on May 12.

Minister of Defence General Ngo Xuan Lichcongratulated the Cambodian postgraduates on their excellent doctorateachievement.

He also expressed his hope that they willdedicate to education and military science research of Cambodia whilecontributing to strengthening the traditional friendship and solidarity as wellas the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia and the twocountries’ armies.

Vietnam and Cambodia have boosted their cooperationon various fields, of which defence collaboration is a major pillar, saidMinister Lich.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Defence provided trainingcourses for some 17,000 Cambodian officers from 1980 and 2016, he added.  

In 2017, it welcomed 300 Cambodian officers for long-termtraining and other 1,000 for short-term courses.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
