Hau Giang (VNA) – Leaders of the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giangheld a reception for a delegation of the Development Department under theCambodian Ministry of Defence led by Deputy Director LieutenantGeneral Dong Mao on October 9.

The two sides discussed cooperation between the Cambodian agency and Vietnam’sMilitary Zone 9 and Mekong Delta provinces in the economy and defence.

The guests updated the hosts on border security and favourable conditions foroverseas Vietnamese in Cambodia.

Nguyen Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee,highlighted bilateral cooperation between the two nations during the paststruggle for national liberation and national building and development atpresent.

He expressed his delight at cooperation in economic development between theCambodian agency and Vietnamese localities, hoping that it will continuecooperating with Military Zone 9, border provinces as well as Mekong Deltaprovinces.

He proposed the Cambodian army ensure safety and stability in the areasbordering Vietnam to facilitate the two people’s trade activities. He alsoasked Cambodia to create favourable conditions for overseas Vietnamese in thecountry.

For his part, Dong Mao extended his thanks to local authorities in particularand Vietnamese people in general for their help in personnel training andequipment repairing and facility construction for Cambodia.

He spoke highly of sound cooperation between the two armies and peoples, sayingthat it has facilitated border trade activities of the two countries’ people. Hesaid he believed that the two nations will successfully implement the tasks setfor 2017 and 2018.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
