Central province to develop International Education City
The central province of Quang Nam has agreed a pre-feasibility study for the development of an International Education City in Nam Hoi An with proposed investment of 1.5 trillion VND (66 million USD).

Quang Nam (VNS/VNA) - The centralprovince of Quang Nam has agreed a pre-feasibility study for the development ofan International Education City in Nam Hoi An with proposed investment of 1.5trillion VND (66 million USD).
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee DinhVan Thu said the project would help train human resources and serve as arendezvous for international education exchanges among worldwide universities.
He said the project, which had been drawn up byNguyen Hoang Group, would include international standard education programmesfrom kindergarten to post-graduation level for 12,000 students.
The HCM City-based group plans to build theproject across 41ha in the communes of Binh Duong, Binh Minh and Binh Da in ThangBinh district.
According to officials, construction was set tostart in the third quarter this year and open in 2021. It is the second projectthat the group has developed in central Vietnam.
Construction on the first InternationalEducation City started in Quang Ngai province with total investment of 1trillionVND (44 million USD) in March.
The group said it planned to introduceworld-class education chains to connect with universities in the UK and the US.
Quang Nam has developed six universities andcolleges in engineering, health, vocational training and economics.
The province, in cooperation with the MoscowPower Engineering Institute (National Research University), also plans to builda hi-tech science institute with the aim of developing applications for newtechnologies in industries related to waste treatment, silicates,pharmaceuticals and automobile production in and around the region.-VNS/VNA
