Ceremony giving Ho Chi Minh and State Awards held

The Council of State Awards and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony on May 19 to present the Ho Chi Minh and State Awards for Literature and the Arts and announce the winners of the People’s Artist title.

President Truong Tan Sang attended the event.

This is the fourth time the Ho Chi Minh Award for Literature and theArts has been held to honour writers and artists. The first time theprize was awarded was in 1996.

This year, theCouncil of State Awards selected 12 works of literature and arts for the Ho Chi Minh prize andrecognised 74 nominees for the People’s Artist title.

In addition, 128 works were presented withthe State Award for literature and the arts and 356 nominees receivedthe Meritorious artist title.

The Ho Chi MinhAward, the State Award for Literature and the Arts and the title ofPeople’s Artist and Meritorious Artist are noble prizes, recognising thewriters and artists who have made important contributions to thecountry’s cultural development.

While speaking at theceremony, President Truong Tan Sang called on artists to continueinheriting and upholding the nation’s cultural tradition in order to create works of high artistic and literary values./ VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
