Children’s Smile offers 300 free operations

More than 300 children with facial deformities will receive free operations during a month-long campaign that began on July 27 in Ho Chi Minh City.
More than 300 children with facialdeformities will receive free operations during a month-long campaignthat began on July 27 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Duringthe Children’s Smile Programme, run by Operation Smile Vietnam (OSV)and Viettel Mobile Corporation, 17 doctors from the National Hospitalof Odonto-Stomatology in HCM City will work with local doctors toperform the surgery in the southeastern provinces of Binh Duong, BinhPhuoc, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The programme will be organised in three phases, with the first at BinhPhuoc General Hospital from July 27-31, and the others at the NationalHospital of Odonto-Stomatology in HCM City and Thien My Hospital fromAugust 3-21.

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
