Inthe first six months of this year, Hanoi ’s exports were estimatedat 4.259 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 17.2 percent, whileimports were about 12.55 billion USD, up 23 percent over the same periodlast year.

Of these figures, 15.7 percent of exports went to China and 27.6 percent of imports came from China .

Japan comes second with 10.9 percent and 12.3 percent of Hanoi ’stotal exports and imports, respectively. The US accounted for with10.6 percent of the capital city’s exports.

The main export itemsenjoying high turnover are garment and textile, accounting for 10.3percent of total exports, computer accessories and peripheral deviceswith 15.1 percent, while petroleum imports amount to 3.6 billion USD./.
