Chinese police rescue trafficked Vietnamese woman

A Vietnamese woman, who was trafficked into China, has been rescued by Baise City police in the southern Chinese province of Guangxi, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

On May 26, anti-drugofficers of Youjiang district in Baise stopped and checked two carswhich were running on a highway in Guangxi. A Vietnamese woman on one ofthe cars cried out for help, saying that she was duped by seven men onthe two cars.

The men, including two from Yunnanprovince, were detained for questioning. They admitted to havingagreed to sell the woman to a man in Hunan to be his wife. Thetraffickers already received money for the woman and were transportingher to the meeting place with the buyer when they were detained.

The traffickers are now in police’s custody while the woman has been sent back to Vietnam safely, according to Xinhua.-VNA
