Clean technology bootcamp debuted in Hanoi

The first Clean Tech Bootcamp came to a close in Hanoi on October 17 with the participation of 24 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The first Clean Tech Bootcamp came to a close in Hanoi on October 17with the participation of 24 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The camp aimed to develop clean energyinnovations, energy-efficient solutions and adaptation techniques in thefields of transport, agri-business, and water management.

The initiative was developed by the World Bank’s Climate TechnologyProgramme (CTP) in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) inan effort to accelerate the growth of green businesses in the region andreduce the impact of climate change.

According to theWorld Bank’s senior environmental economic expert Laura Altinger,Vietnam’s unique climate and rapid economic growth require appropriateinnovative solutions that are adapted to local conditions.

Thebootcamp comprised lectures and hands-on workshops that providedentrepreneurs the opportunity to refine their product strategies,business models and negotiation skills, as well as build networks withclean-tech investors.

Via the Climate Innovation Centre(Vietnam CIC), the programme will continue to nurture and mentor theSMEs and other climate technology enterprises. Thanks to it, Vietnam CICwill benefit around one million people, including women, children, andthe financially disadvantaged to mitigate the damage caused by climatechange.-VNA

ꦏ Vietnam launches six 4.0 technology training and talent networks

The networks bring together universities, research institutes and domestic and foreign businesses. Members will work closely in training, research, and technology transfer by sharing curricula, improving faculty capacity, providing access to laboratories and research facilities, and jointly implementing science and technology projects.

Vietnam is actively yet cautiously preparing for the construction of its first nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan (now the south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa). The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

🗹 PM chairs national committee's meeting on semiconductor development

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
