Concert bridges Vietnamese and Spanish cultures

To celebrate 45 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Spain, the Vietnam National Academy of Music will host a concert titled Melodia de Espana Concerto - Spanish Melodies.

Hanoi (VNA) - To celebrate 45 years of diplomaticties between Vietnam and Spain, the Vietnam National Academy of Musicwill host a concert titled Melodia deEspana Concerto - Spanish Melodies.

The event's lineup included Spanish pianist Pablo Galdo, as wellas Vietnamese musicians Tran Thi Tam Ngoc, Vu Duc Hien, and others.

Classic love melodies that showcase the culture and history of theSpanish people will be performed during the show, and organisers hope this willgive the audience a deeper appreciation for the country's artistic heritage.

They also disclosed that Pablo Galdo would recreate the voyage touncover the features of the areas around the Mediterranean via the well-knownmusical Suite Espanola No.1, Opt.47 composed by Isaac Albeniz.

Guitarist Vu Duc Hien will perform his own arrangement of theVietnamese folk song 'Bèo dạt mây trôi' aswell as a presentation based on the music of Spanish composer FranciscoTarrega, 'Caprichio Arabe.'

The concert's centrepiece will be a performance of 'Ma Mere l'Oye' (Mother Goose) byMaurice Ravel, performed on the piano by Pablo Galdo and Tran Thi Tam Ngoc.

This performance, featuring two pianists from Vietnam andSpain, will highlight the two countries' friendship and partnership, Ngoc said. 

As the concert approaches, Ngoc also revealed her feelings ofexcitement and pride.

She said "It is an honour to represent the Vietnam NationalAcademy of Music at this national event. For me, one of the most thrillingthings would be to perform with the artist Pablo Galdo. After a long pausedue to the pandemic, I am hopeful that the show will garner attention and be amemorable evening."

Artist Tran Thi Tam Ngoc is a lecturer at the pianodepartment, Vietnam National Academy of Music.

She is a frequent performer in major theatres in the US, Sweden,Thailand, Singapore, China, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, andChina.

Ngoc is an active member of the music community, taking partnot just in solo performances but also in a variety of ensemble settings. Sheis an integral part of the modern ensemble Hanoi New Music Ensemble and performsoften with the piano duo May.

Among musicians, Pablo Galdo stands out for his exceptional skilland depth of expression on the stage.

He is the current Artistic Director of the Galician ClassicalMusic Association, the creator of the programme for the Vigo InternationalMusic Festival, and the Chairman of the jury for the Vigo International MusicCompetition.

With Galdo and the Vietnamese artists performinglegendary compositions, the show promises to entertain the audience with anight of music filled with passion.
