Conference shares anti-corruption experience

Speakers from the World Bank and the United NationsOffice on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) presented their anti-corruptionexperience in public procurement and financial management, transparencyof public servants’ assets and prevention of interest conflicts.

Inaddition, measures to increase the accountability of officials andcivil servants as well as help people access corruption-relatedinformation were tabled.

Participants also analysedanti-corruption regulations in the UN Convention against Corruption andintroduced Vietnam ’s initiatives against the problem.

Vietnam is sparing no effort to drive back corruption throughperfecting the legal system, intensifying inspection, and imposingstrict punishments on corruption cases, said Deputy Chief Inspector TranDuc Luong.

Delegates pointed out difficulties and obstacles thecountry is facing in fighting corruption so as to seek the bestsolutions to the issue.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.
