– Party General Secretary and PresidentNguyen Phu Trong on May 28 sent a message of congratulations to President ofMyanmar Win Myint on the occasion of the 45th anniversary ofdiplomatic ties between the two countries (May 28).

The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc cabledcongratulations to State Counsellor of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh sentcongratulatory messages to Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi and UnionMinister for International Cooperation Kyaw Tin on the occasion.

Their messages spoke highly of important achievements inbilateral ties over the past 45 years, both within bilateral and ASEANframeworks, other sub-regional, regional and international cooperationmechanisms.

ꦜ The two countries’ leaders expressed their belief that withcommon efforts of the two Governments and peoples, the Vietnam – Myanmar friendshipand comprehensive cooperative partnership will grow further in the near future,bringing practical benefits to the two peoples while making activecontributions to ASEAN Community, for the sake of peace, stability, cooperationand prosperity in the region and the world./.
