Hanoi (VNA)🍃 - The Hanoi municipal People’s Committee on July 30 held a ceremony to start the construction of a flyover bridge in Long Bien district.
An overpass with a total length of 216 metres and a width of 12 metres will be built to connect Co Linh road and Vinh Tuy bridge.
According to Vu Van Vien, Director of the municipal Transport Department, the overpass is needed because the area hosts dense population and high number of visitors to a cluster of recreational facilities there.
The project is worth over 161 billion VND (7 million USD).
It is expected to be completed at the end of this year and to be open to traffic on the occasion of 2017 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.-VNA
The Ministry of Construction on Dec. 21 gave its stamp of approval to a 10-kilometre-long, four-lane overpass project from Vinh Tuy Bridge to Nga Tu So intersection in southwest of Hanoi .
This year, Hanoi authorities plan to build steel overpasses for cars and motorbikes as well as underground and high-rise car parks to gradually reduce traffic congestion in the capital city.
A ceremony was held on December 16 to inaugurate the flyover at Nguyen Chi Thanh–Lang road intersection. It is the biggest steel-foundation overpass in the capital city.
