Havana (VNA) – Cubadebate, the largest official e-newspaper of Cuba, republished a special article written by late veteran journalist♉ Marta Rojas oꦫn the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025).

The article is more than just a tribute to Vietnam’s beloved leader, it is also a deep reflection on the enduring friendship between Cuba and Vietnam.
Through the heartfelt words of a journalist who had witnessed the war firsthand in Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh emerges as a vivid and realistic figure, a man of immense stature yet profound humility, whose intellect was forged through hardship, and whose heart burned with unwavering faith in the ultimate triumph of his people. The article concludes with a poignant memory that just 52 days before his passing, President Ho Chi Minh sent a message through journalist Marta Rojas, the last foreign reporter to speak with him. "Tell Cuba, he said, that I cherish the Cuban people, from the leaders to the children, and wish our comrades good health." These were the sincere sentiments of a great man who devoted his life to national independence and international solidarity./.
