Da Lat: Farm tours attractive to visitors

The resort city of Da Lat in the central highlands of Lam welcomed 2.4 million tourists in the first four months of this year, up 10 percent year on year, thanks to the introduction of a diverse range of tourism products like farm tours.

Hanoi (VNA) – The resort city of Da Lat in the Central Highlands province of Lamwelcomed 2.4 million tourists in the first four months of this year, up 10 percentyear on year, thanks to the introduction of a diverse range of tourism productslike farm tours.

Apart from improving the quality of traditional tourist sites, the provincialtourism sector has put a major focus on developing and improving the quality ofexisting farm tours in order to provide tourists with a more varied andinteresting experience.

Visitors can now pick red ripe strawberries, take beautiful photos amid theorchards, become involved in farming activities, and gain an insight into bothorganic farming and hydroponic vegetable growing models that can deliver a highquality and safe product to consumers.

Da Lat has over 30 standard tourist sites operating under the current model toserve tourists, Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong provincialDepartment of Culture, Sports and Tourism, told Radio the Voice of Vietnam(VOV).

The locality has brought farming models into operation in order to turn thetourism sector into the province’s spearhead industry in the future, she added.

Ngoc emphasised that local authorities have strengthened promotional activitiesalong with organisations and individuals to improve the service quality ofthese models. - VNA
