Da Nang airport maintains lead in service quality

The Da Nang international airport continues securing its first position in Vietnam in terms of providing the best service quality, according to a survey conducted among 21,000 passengers in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Hanoi (VNA) –
The Da Nanginternational airport continues securing its first position in Vietnam in termsof providing the best service quality, according to a survey conducted among21,000 passengers in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The survey, conducted by the Civil AviationAuthority of Vietnam (CAAV) at Vietnam’s three largest international airportsof Noi Bai (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City) and Da Nang (Da Nang city),found that Da Nang airport topped the list with a score of 4.19 points,followed by Noi Bai with 4.13 and Tan Son Nhat with 3.96.

It evaluated passengers’ satisfaction over theattitude of the check-in staff, wifi quality, departure terminal area, way-findingand sign guidelines, and taxi availability and prices, among other criteria.

The survey revealed that the attitude ofcheck-in officials at the three airports was ranked first with 4.34 points, butthe wifi quality at the departure terminal area and the waiting longue wasranked bottom with 3.72 points and 3.73 points, respectively.

According to the CAAV, Vietnamese airlinesconducted over 150,000 flights in the first six months of 2018, a year-on-yearrise of 9 percent. They served 35.4 million passengers in the period, up 16.8percent. 

Seventy-one foreign airlines from 28 countriesand territories and three Vietnamese airlines namely Vietnam Airlines, VietjetAir and Jetstar Pacific are operating over 140 regular international routes andcharter flights from/to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc,Hai Phong, Da Lat, Can Tho and Dong Hoi.

In the domestic market, Vietnam Airlines,Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific and Vasco are operating 47 routes connectingHanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City with 18 local airports.

In January-June, Vietnamese airlines conductedmore than 150,000 flights, up 19 percent against the same period last year. Thenumber of on-time flights was 129,000, accounting for 86.1 percent.-VNA
