Da Nang (VNA) – CentralDa Nang city has launched a series of preventivemeasures to prevent the outbreaks of H7N9 avian influenza in the city.
Health authority of the provincehas intensified entry screenings of travellers, vehicles andcommodities through Da Nang International Airport and Tien Sa Seaport to detectany suspects of having the dangerous influenza’s symptoms.
The municipal Health Departmenthas requested the International Quarantine Centre of Da Nang to keep a closewatch on the passengers, particularly those travelling from disease-affectedareas.
The city’s preventive medicinecentre, hospitals and district-level medical stations have been ordered toactively coordinate with relevant agencies in the epidemic prevention.
According to Doctor Pham TrucLam, Director of the International Quarantine Centre of Da Nang, more than halfof international flights from disease-affected areas are from China, raisingthe risk of the virus entering Vietnam.
The centre has also allocatedstaff to conduct screenings round the clock at border gates and prepared allnecessary facilities for any emergencies.
Two mobile teams of health workershave been set up by the municipal preventive medicine centre while eachdistrict-level medical station sets up one to help control the situation.

Authorities of Hanoi are proactively controlling trade, transportation and slaughter of poultry in the city as the risk of H7N9 avian influenza outbreaks in animals and humans is high.
The northern border province of Lang Son has implemented a plan on urgent response to dangerous avian flu strains as the A/H7N virus is ravaging Chinese localities bordering the province.
