Da Nang SOS Children’s Village marks anniversary

The SOS children’s village in the central city of Da Nang celebrated its 20th anniversary on December 25.
The SOS children’s village in the central city of Da Nang celebrated its 20th anniversary on December 25. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids andSocial Affairs Doan Mau Diep, who is also President of Vietnam SOSChildren’s Village and Siddhartha Kaul, President of SOS Children’sVillage International.
Addressing at the event,Diep praised the achievements made by the village over the past 20 yearsand its contribution to the overall development of the local community. He said he hopes the Da Nang SOS Children’sVillage will be an ideal model on bringing up helpless orphans anddisadvantaged youngsters. The village has beenhome to 371 orphans from Da Nang and the neighbouring provinces ofQuang Nam , Quang Ngai and Kon Tum.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
