Dai Nam zoological park in the southern province of Binh Duonghas welcomed a newborn African zebra, marking a good start for the Yearof the Horse.
According to Duong Thanh Phi, themanager of the zoo, the 10 kilogramme female foal was born at thepark on February 5 and it drew special attention from visitors.
The zoo manager also said the zoo had initially imported two pairs ofzebra from Africa and they have to date given birth to three foals.
Phi said that the African zebras and other wildanimals like giraffe, hippo, and antelope adapt well to livingconditions in Binh Duong where the sun is shining all year round andgrass is abundant.
On January 2, a baby South African giraffe was also born at the park.-VNA
