Dak Nong (VNA) – The CentralHighlands province of Dak Nong has completed the building of 80 auxiliarymarkers on the border shared with Cambodia’s Mundulkiri province as set in2017.
The provincial steering committee on border marker planting on December 27-28studied the last 17 markers newly built in Tuy Duc district.
Nguyen Dinh Nghia, permanent member of the steering committee, said the completionof border marker building has reflected Vietnam’s progresses in borderdemarcation and marker planting affairs.
The markers are expected to help competent agencies of the two sides manage thecommon border effectively, contributing to maintaining stability in borderareas and advancing cooperation between Dak Nong and Mundulkiri, especially ineconomy and trade, said Nghia, who is also Deputy Director of the provincialDepartment of External Affairs.
Colonel Ngo Hung Cuong, Deputy Commander of the provincial Border GuardCommand, said the markers will serve as a legal foundation for border guards toprotect national border sovereignty and security.
