Dak Nong reinforces connections with Cambodian province

Dak Nong (VNA) – The Military High Command of theCentral Highlands province of Dak Nong and the military sub-region ofCambodia’s Mondulkiri province signed the third memorandum of understanding oncooperation on April 20.

The signing took place at the third bilateraltalks held in Gia Nghia township of Dak Nong province.

Accordingly, the two sides pledged to intensifycooperation in line with the motto “sound neighbourliness, traditionalfriendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability”.

They will continue joint patrols along theshared borderline and facilitate border demarcation and border marker planting.Both sides will also strengthen collaboration in fighting drug crimes,smuggling and illegal forest product transport and exploitation.

Dak Nong and Mondulkiri are set to step upcooperative relations, exchanges and pairing between their border communities.

They said the two sides made strides in militarycooperation in the latter half of 2016 and the first quarter of 2017. They havefoiled many dangerous and organised crime activities. Border patrols and theprotection of border markers have also been carried out well.

The Military High Command of Dak Nong has alsovisited Mondulkiri to offer greetings and gifts on traditional festivals andsupported the Cambodian province with equipment, house building expenses andmedical aid for the poor.-VNA
