Dak Nong to examine last locations for demarcation with Cambodia

The border demarcation and marker planting force in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong will examine the last section for demarcation along the borderline it shares with Cambodia this year.

Dak Nong (VNA) – The border demarcation andmarker planting force in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong willexamine the last section for demarcation along the borderline it shares withCambodia this year.

The information was released at a conference held in DakNong on January 9 to review the local planting of markers along the Vietnam –Cambodia border last year and set out tasks for 2019.

The force is expected to check the locations for five bordermarkers from number 56 to 60 in the 19-km borderline in Tuy Duc district’sQuang Truc commune. The work will help gather information and build a demarcationplan for the mapping of the section by the National Border Committee. 

The force will also join its Cambodian counterpart to clearthe areas chosen for demarcation, as well as purchase and transportconstruction materials to these locations.

The outcomes achieved from the border demarcation and markerplanting work will be spread among the residents of relevant localities throughcommunications campaigns.

It was reported at the conference that in 2018, Dak Nongcompleted the planting of eight major markers and 84 sub-markers, meeting theyear’s set target.

Dak Nong shares a borderline with Cambodia spanning 121 km,of which 117 km were demarcated. –VNA
