Dengue cases in Hanoi decrease

The number of new dengue fever cases in Hanoi continued to drop in the last few weeks, announced the city’s Department of Health on October 9.

Hanoi (VNA) – Th🃏e number of new dengue fever cases in Hanoi continuedto drop in the last f🍨ew weeks, announced the city’s Department of Health onOctober 9.

Hanoi recorded 1,068 dengue fever casesfrom October 2 to 8, a decrease of 160 compared to the previous week and 2,501compared to this year’s peak in August. The number of dengue cases has dropped in24 of the city’s localities. Meanwhile, Soc Son, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, Phu Xuyen,Gia Lam and Thanh Xuan districts recorded up to eight new cases per week.

[Hanoi: 384 dengue outbreaks remain]

Currently, there are 271 remainingoutbreaks, down 89 compared to last week. However, the city recorded about 150new dengue cases a day. There were also 97 cases ofhand-foot-mouth reported during the week and two cases of Japanese encephalitisin My Duc and Ba Vi districts. According to Hoang Duc Hanh, DeputyDirector of the city’s Health Department, this year the country has recordedmore than 143,000 dengue fever cases, with 30 fatalities. Though the number of new cases in the cityhas declined recently, October and November normally see an increase in denguecases.-VNA

Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production tec𝔍hnology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
