Deputy PM attends opening of Summit for a New Global Financing Pact
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha joined State and government leaders of 40 countries at the opening session of the international Summit for a New Global Financing Pact held in Paris on June 22.

Paris (VNA) - Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha joinedState and government leaders of 40 countries at the opening session of theinternational Summit for a New Global Financing Pact held in Paris onJune 22.
Leaders of many international organisations and financialinstitutions such as the United Nations, the World Bank, and the InternationalMonetary Fund, as well as business executives and leaders of socio-politicalorganisations also attended the event.
Delegates examined ways to build a new vision for the globalfinancial system, assist developing countries with high debt levels, andmobilise private finance for the implementation of global goals. They also discussedmeasures to encourage investment to infrastructure for energy transition, and to achieve climate, biodiversity and sustainable development goals.
Leaders emphasised the role of solidarity andcooperation in building an inclusive, transparent, and people-targeted globalfinancial system, and listening to the voices of developing and underdevelopedcountries, as well as making commitments with concrete actions.

On this occasion, Deputy PM Ha had meetings with World BankPresident Ajay Banga, Canadian Minister of International Development HarjitSingh Sajjan, and Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and GlobalClimate Policy Dan Jorgensen.
Meeting with the WB leader, Ha congratulated him on assuminghis post and expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to strengthenODA cooperation and effectively implement projects in Vietnam, especially in urbaninfrastructure development, climate change adaptation, energy transition, andcapacity building.
At Ha’s meeting with the Canadian minister, the two sides expressed theirdelight at the development of the bilateral relationship over the past fivedecades, and affirmed close coordination in the implementation of developmentcooperation projects. Minister Sajjan proposed the two countries strengthencooperation in the fields of green development and energy transition.

At the meeting with the Danish minister, the two sidesdiscussed measures to effectively implement the Just Energy TransitionPartnership (JETP), and to soon establish a Green Strategic Partnership to elevatebilateral relations and support Vietnam's green transition.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha met with Deputy CEO of the French Development Agency (AFD) Marie Helene Loison in Paris on June 21, during his working trip to France to attend the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact.
State President Luong Cuong’s trip once again reaffirmed the Party and State’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralisation of relations. It also reflected the strong trend of enhanced cooperation among countries of the Global South in shaping a new, more multipolar, fair and equitable world order.
