– Deputy PrimeMinister Vuong Dinh Hue has handed 89 relief packages, each worth 3 million VND(129 USD), to needy students in the Red River Delta province of Thai Binh.

At a gala held in the province on September 4, the official also handed over 50million VND to the province’s fund of support for students to continue theirschooling.

The event, the second of its kind, aimed to honour poor students withoutstanding achievements, and donors who have provided support for locallearners.

Since the first held in last year, individual and collective donors havecontributed 1.8 billion VND to the construction of seven houses, each worth 100million VND, and hundreds of relief packages and bikes for local students, saidLe Duy Quang, President of the provincial Red Cross Society.
