Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Truong HoaBinh visited and extended Lunar New Year wishes to personnel at the State AuditOffice of Vietnam (SAV) in Hanoi on February 12.

Speaking at the meeting, Binh praised the agency’sperformance last year in contribution to national achievements.

In 2018, the SAV proposed a total fine of 89.6 trillion VND(3.85 billion USD), while helping to reduce the State budget spending by 44.4trillion VND, up 18.39 percent year-on-year. It also suggested amendments toand the cancellation of 115 legal documents.

He said the agency has gained trust from the Party, NationalAssembly, Government, and people, while highlighting its extensive internationalcooperation activities which have resulted in various practical outcomes.

Last year, the SAV successfully hosted the 14th Assembly ofthe Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI). This year is thefirst year it performs the role of the ASOSAI Chair in the 2018-2021 period.  

The Deputy PM urged the State Audit to work on its tasks in2019 in line with the leadership and guidance of the Party, State, NationalAssembly, and Government.

Binh asked the organisation to work with relevant sides incompleting its proposal for amending and supplementing the 2015 Law on StateAudit and administrative reform.

He recommended the SAV clearly demonstrate its role asASOSAI Chair by fulfilling the ASOSAI strategic plan for 2016-2021. –VNA
