Washington (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on June 30visited Omni Parker House where late President Ho Chi Minh worked from1911-1913 during his journey to seek a way for national liberation as part ofhis working visit to the US.

Witnessing the late President’s remembrances being kept atthe hotel, Hue thanked the hotel’s leaders for their sentiments to the lateleader and the maintenance of the hotel as a special tourist site for the twocountries’ people and international visitors.

This act is of significance and has contributed totightening mutual understanding and friendship, he added.

Earlier on June 29, Deputy PM Hue received former USSecretary of State John Kerry during which he affirmed that Vietnam alwaystreasures and appreciates Kerry’s contributions to bilateral ties, particularlyin education and training.

He spoke highly of the US official’s initiatives ondeveloping renewable and clean energies in Vietnam, adding that Vietnameseministries and sectors are seriously considering these ideas.

Vietnam has demand for diversifying sources of energy toserve socio-economic development, while encouraging the development of solarand wind power projects.

He showed his support for intensifying bilateral cooperationin the field of energy, especially clean and renewable energies.

Kerry affirmed that in any positions, he will maintain hiscontributions to boosting the US-Vietnam relations.

He stressed the importance of clean and renewable energiesfor the socio-economic development in each nation.

Vietnam holds much potential and is capable of developing anenergy strategy to ensure energy security, he said, adding that he is willingto support, and share experience with Vietnam in this field.

He took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese Government forfacilitating the operation of the Fulbright Vietnam University, hoping that theuniversity will contribute to high-quality human resource training for Vietnam.

On July 1, Deputy PM Hue left Boston for Brasilia, startinghis visit to Brazil from July 2-3.-VNA
