Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang hosted a reception in Hanoi onMarch 28🅷 for US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper.
Both sides expressed their delight at the positivedevelopment of the bilateral relationship over the past time, particularly the regularhigh-level exchanges and meetings, while cooperation in economy, trade and investment has been deepened and served as the core and driving force of the ties.
Two-way trade reached 123 billion USD last year. The US became Vietnam's first export market with turnover of over 100 billion USD while Vietnam was the 8th largest trade partner of the US.
Practical results have beenseen in cooperation in national𒈔 defence-security, education and training, science-technology,energy transition and response to climate change.

Cooperation in overcoming war consequences is a brightspot in the bilateral relationship, making important contributions to the process ofreconciliation and trust building between the two countries, opening up new cooperation opportunities inother important areas. The two sides have been working together more and moreeffectively within multilateral frameworks and in addressing regional and globalissues. Highlighting the importance of 2023 - the year marks the10th founding anniversary of the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership,the two officials vowed to work closely together to thoroughly prepare for the exchange ofdelegations and all-level meetings in the near future, contributing to promoting the bilateral relationship in various areas, thus bringing practical benefits tothe two nations and for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation anddevelopment in the region./.

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
