Hungary’s senior leaders showed a consensus on developing friendship with Vietnam at their meetings in Budapest on September 7 with Politburo member Truong Thi Mai.

Budapest (VNA) – Hungary’s senior leaders showeda consensus on developing friendship with Vietnam at their meetings in Budapeston September 7 with Politburo member and head of the Communist Party of Vietnam(CPV) Central Committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission Truong Thi Mai.

While receiving Mai, Speaker of the National Assembly ofHungary and head of the national executive board of the Hungarian CivicAlliance (Fidesz) Kover Laszlo spoke highly of the visit made by the CPVdelegation and the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperationbetween the two parties.

He shared experience of the Fidesz and the National Assemblyin helping the country overcome economic difficulties and social disorders.

He expressed his belief that the official visit to Vietnamby Prime Minister and Fidesz President Viktor Orban later this month will helppromote the two countries’ comprehensive cooperation.

Mai, in turn, emphasised that strengthening relations withthe Hungarian National Assembly is an important part in Vietnam’s foreignpolicy.

Cooperation activities and experience sharing between thetwo NAs’ agencies will contribute to boosting the bilateral ties, she said, addingthat based on the cooperation agreement signed by the two legislatures in 2008,the two sides should increase the exchange of high-level delegations.

When receiving Chairman of the Hungarian Workers’ PartyThurmer Gyula, Mai affirmed the CPV’s policy of maintaining relations withcommunist and workers’ parties over the world, expanding people-to-peoplediplomacy, and welcoming organisations and individuals who have goodwilltowards Vietnam.

Thurmer Gyula vowed to continue efforts to promoting the imageof Vietnamese land and people in his country.

On the same day, the Vietnamese official had a workingsession with leaders of Zalaegerszeg city where a statue of President Ho ChiMinh and a flower garden named after him are located.-VNA
