Dialogue between PM, enterprises to take place this month

Hanoi (VNA) –The annual dialogue between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the businesscommunity will take place sometime between May 10 and 20, allowing firms todirectly communicate with the Government.

According to theVietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event intends to review theone-year implementation of Resolution No.35/NQ-CP dated May 16, 2016 on“Supporting and developing enterprises by 2020” and the government’s efforts toimprove the local business climate and national competitiveness.

About 1,400delegates, including 200 from foreign-invested corporations and businessassociations, international financial institutions, and foreign embassies toVietnam and some 1,200 others from domestic private companies and cooperatives,will participate in the dialogue.

The event will assess governmental work to support and develop enterprises and review the performanceof the businesses. Problems in linking domestic and foreign-invested firmstogether with potential solutions will also be discussed. 

Progress has beenmade a year after Resolution No.35/NQ-CP was launched, especially in buildingconfidence in the government’s commitment to develop the business society, andchange the mindset of the government apparatus.

A record number ofabout 110,100 businesses were established last year with total capital of morethan 891 trillion VND, up 49 percent year on year.-VNA

🦩 Maximum fine of 3,000 USD proposed for violating invoice regulations

Under a draft to amend and supplement the Government's Decree 125/2020/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations of tax and invoice regulations, the Ministry of Finance has proposed classifying the failure to issue invoices into five different levels. Infraction levels will correspond to fines of 1 million VND to 80 million VND, depending on the nature and number of invoicing violations.
