Dong Nai's trade edges down, surplus shoots up

Dong Nai (VNA) ♋– The southernprovince of Dong Nai reported that its foreign trade in the first four monthsof the year topped 10.8 billion USD, down 2.67 percent year-on-year but thesurplus shot up by 43 percent.

According to theprovincial Department of Industry and Trade, exports increased marginallyto 6.1 billion USD while imports fell 7 percent to 4.7 billion USD.

The surplus of almost 1.4 billion USD accounted for 43 percent of the country’ssurplus.

Items whose exports increased include footwear, machinery, pepper, and coffee.

Imports of machinery and equipment fell by 5 percent, of raw plastic by 6 percentand of chemicals by 10 percent.

ඣ Exports to the US, Japan and the Republic of Korea increased, while those toChina and Belgium declined./.
