Hanoi (VNA) – Torrential rains are likely 💟to sweep through the northern and north central regions from August 13-18.

The rainfall could reach 200-400mm and over 500mm in some areas, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting. The centre warned flooding in major cities and urban areas in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh and Hai Duong from August 14-17. It is possible that flash flood and landslide will rage through northern mountainous and north central regions, especially Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An.-VNA
