Dutch organisations support eye hospital in Vinh Long
An eye examination and treatment ward funded by the Netherlands’ Eye Care Foundation and De Heus company was inaugurated on February 27 at the Ophthalmology Hospital in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long.

Vinh Long (VNA) – An eye examination and treatment ward funded bythe Netherlands’ Eye Care Foundation and De Heus company was inaugurated onFebruary 27 at the Ophthalmology Hospital in the Mekong Delta province of VinhLong.
Nguyen Thanh Hai, Director of the hospital, said the two organisations committedto provide 280,000 USD for an eye care project in Vinh Long province for the2016-2025 period.
In the 2017-19 period, the hospital will open new eye care and treatment facilitiesand health training courses, as well as provide eye check-ups for local studentsand old people.-VNA
About 200,000 children and elderly people in the Mekong Delta region will benefit from eye care services under a project to be carried out from 2016-2018.
The Orbis Flying Eye Hospital said it will provide free eye check-ups and operations for people in Can Tho city and some other Mekong Delta localities.
Diabetes patients in HCM City and Mekong Delta provinces will be provided with free eye care under a project jointly funded by the international organisation Orbis and the World Diabetes Foundation.
Despite storm-related disruptions and flight delays, the organs were successfully transported via a combination of air and ground travel. All patients are currently stable and recovering well.
