E-sports channel makes official debut in Vietnam

Esports: TV, the television channel dedicated to electronic and alternative sports, made its official debut in Vietnam on April 8 after testing its broadcast over the last ten months.

The channel, which targets audiencein the 15-35 age group, will broadcast 18 hours a day on HTVC from 7am onwards,said Kelvin Low, director of Esports:TV.

Programmes which will beexclusively aired on the channel include the V-pro Gaming League showintroducing Dota Game, Esports Professional League and World Cyber Games, hesaid.

The channel will also broadcast Game4TV, a television magazinereview and update focusing on the domestic game market.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
