Enertec Expo 2012 gets underway in HCM City

The international exhibition on power saving products and green energies, Enertec Expo 2012, got underway on August 15 at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

Jointly held by the city’s Department of Industry and Trade and theHCMC Power Corporation, the exhibition which will last until August 18features nearly 100 enterprises showcasing their power saving,environmentally friendly and renewable energy products at 120 stands.

Deputy Director of HCMC’s Department of Industryand Trade Le Van Khoa said that the exhibition is one of the activitiesincluded in the national strategy for efficient energy use.

It is also an opportunity for domestic enterprises to promote theirhigh-tech products to consumers, expands their market and help overseasfirms seek out new partners, distributors and importers.

During the exhibition, which is primarily to promote the developmentof new energies, renewable energies and energy saving products, severalworkshops on the country’s power strategy for 2011 to 2020 will be held,mainly focusing on power saving products and ways of saving energy.

To compliment the exhibition and improve the publicsawareness of the importance of saving energy, a contest to create a workof art with the theme ‘smart city – saving energy for a civilized andmodern city' will also take place.-VNA

The resumption of the programme after years of suspension carries considerable significance for the nation’s development in a new era as it strives to gradually reduce and ultimately phase out coal-fired power to realise the Government’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050.

Vietnam has issued many key policies to support semiconductor development, notably the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Other initiatives include the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Human Resources Development Programme for the Semiconductor Industry.
