Hanoi (VNA) –
The National Power Transmission Corporationunder the Electricity of Vietnam (EVNNPT) is implementing a project applyinggeographic information system (GIS) in the management of power transmission,which is expected to be put into operation in 2018.

This technology will help computerise the technical and operationalmanagement and support the operation quickly and effectively.

Seventy-nine percent of the 135 transformer stations will usecomputerised control systems and intelligent electronic devices.

The EVNNPT is also implementing digital transformer stations, which arescheduled to become operational in 2018-2019.

Smart grid is a pilot solution in many places inthe world for power management from manufacture, transmission, distribution tothe end-customers.

In Vietnam, the Prime Minister hasissued a decision in November 2012 approving the roadmap of smart griddevelopment with the aim of improving power supply quality and reliability;encouraging safe and effective use of electricity; boosting effectiveexploitation of energy natural resources, and promoting environment protectionand sustainable socio-economical development.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
