Exhibition featuring Lao people and land opens

A photo exhibition opened in Vinh city, central Nghe An province, on April 12 highlighting landscapes and people of neighbouring Laos, their colorful festivals, and unique family traditions.
A photo exhibition opened in Vinh city, central Nghe An province, onApril 12 highlighting landscapes and people of neighbouring Laos, theircolorful festivals, and unique family traditions.

The exhibitedphotos were taken by Vietnamese journalist and photographer Tran DuyNgoan, who is former chairman of Thanh Chuong district People’sCommittee and former director of Nghe An TV and radio station.

Hetook many of the photos during his working visits to Laos over the pastseveral decades capturing the images of Lao people as they went abouttheir daily lives amidst the background of the country’s beautifulnatural landscapes.

The photos provide an opportunity forVietnamese to gain a better appreciation for neighbouring Laos andcontribute to strengthening the time-honoured friendship and specialsolidarity between Vietnamese and Lao people.

The exhibition,which lasts until April 20, is part of activities to celebrate Laos’traditional Bunpimay Festival 2014 and the 52nd anniversary ofVietnam-Laos diplomatic ties./.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
