Almost 30 photos capturing Vietnam’s natural landscape and people areon display at an exhibition, which opened in Buenos Aires, Argentina onOctober 17.
The event was organised by the Argentina-VietnamCulture Institute (ICAV) in conjunction with the Vietnamese Embassy inArgentina and authorities of District 13 in Buenos Aires to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Van Dao, ICAVPresident Poldi Sosa and head of District 13 Gustavo Acevedo stressedthat cultural activities help further enhance mutual understanding amongthe two countries’ people, thus promoting the bilateral cooperation.
Apart from photos, traditional clothes and folk paintings of Vietnam are also displayed at the event.
Visitors to the exhibition had a change to enjoy several drawings onVietnam by artist Maria Teresa Bobbio, who joined the project “Ceramicroad” to celebrate 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi in 2010.
On the occasion, the films “The wild field” by director Hong Sen and“Don’t burn” by director Dang Nhat Minh were also screened.
Previously, a wide range of similar cultural activities had beenorganised in the city by ICAV, the Paco Urondo cultural centre at theFaculty of Philosophy in Buenos Aires and the embassy.
InSeptember, the “Vietnam Days in Argentina” was held in Argentina by theVietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the ArgentineMinistry of Culture.
An “Argentine Culture Week” is scheduledto be held in Vietnam in November with photo exhibitions, filmscreenings and art performances and talks about Vietnam.-VNA
