Exhibition to raise funds for victims of natural disasters
A collection of 60 wooden carvings, zinc and stone block prints are going on display to raise funds for the victims of floods and landslides in central Vietnam.

DaNang (VNS/VNA) - A collection of 60 wooden carvings, zinc and stoneblock prints are going on display to raise funds for the victimsof floods and landslides in central Vietnam.
The city’s Graphic Art Clubsaid the exhibition would feature works by 18 artists from Hanoi, ThuaThien-Hue and Da Nang at the city’s Fine Arts Museum from November 3-25.
Some of the artists have donated funds to help local people suffering fromfloods and landslides in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Namand Quang Ngai.
The artists will donate the money made from sales to the cause.
The exhibition will offer free entry at 78 Le Duan street, DaNang.
Seriouslandslides in the mountainous districts of Quang Nam province have claimedthe lives of 24 people and wounded 46, while 23 remain missing./.
The settlement of the consequences of the recent storms and flooding in the central region was high on the agenda at the Government’s monthly meeting on October 30, during which Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc demanded that efforts to compensate local residents for their losses be redoubled.
The Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRSC) Central Committee on October 30 sent emergency aid of nearly 2.6 billion VND (112,000 USD) in cash and kind to flood-hit households in the central provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai and south-central Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces.
The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and its subordinate companies have raised 328 billion VND (14.16 million USD) to support flood victims in the central region and poor people across the country.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on November 1 urged authorities of central provinces to make maximum efforts to support residents hit by recent storms and floods.
A photo exhibition themed “The life we miss” is being held in Sydney, Australia, from October 30 to November 15, with the aim of raising fund for flood-affected people in Vietnam’s central region.
