Exhibitions on the 50 years of the Spring 1968 uprising and Vietnam’s economic, cultural, social and national defence achievements opened in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on December 19.

Can Tho (VNA) – Exhibitions on the 50 years of the Spring 1968uprising and Vietnam’s economic, cultural, social and national defence achievementsopened in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on December 19.

More than 250 documents, photos and objects are on display at the Can ThoMuseum, featuring the Mau Than Offensive in Spring 1968 and the uprising ofsoldiers and people of the Mekong Delta and Can Tho city in particular. Thesecontributed to the victory of the Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975, liberating theSouth and reunifying the nation.

The exhibits included soldiers’ watches, sandals and working instruments suchas binoculars and headphones, as well as an old sewing machine to makethousands of national flags that were sent to the battlefields.

The event aims to raise public awareness, especially youths, of the sacrificeand endurance of Vietnamese people for the sake of national independence.

Besides, a photo exhibition was held to introduce economic, cultural, socialand national defence achievements of the country and Can Tho city in particularsince 1975.

On showcase were 120 file photos, with many of them provided by the VietnamNews Agency.

The two events are open for public until April 15, 2018.-VNA

Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convent💧ion’s Intergovernmenta൩l Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.

Exhibition features President Ho Chi Minh as found🐻er of Vietnam’s revolutionary press

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.

Vietnam take silver in AFF U19 Final
