The import-export turnover through the Lao Cai International Border Gate in Vietnam-China border exceeded 248 million USD in the first five months of 2017 with an impressive surge in exports.

Lao Cai (VNA) – The import-export turnover throughthe Lao Cai International Border Gate in Vietnam-China border exceeded 248million USD in the first five months of 2017 with an impressive surge inexports, according to the border gate customs office.

Tran Anh Tu, the office’s deputy head, said that as of June7, the value of exports through the gate reached 110.5 million USD, equivalentto 214 percent of the figure in the same period last year.

Main export staples include iron ore, footwear, farmproduce, confectionary, seafood and aquatic products.

To facilitate import-export activities, the office has appliedthe Vietnam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System and Vietnam CustomsInformation System (VNACCS/VCIS), thus speeding up the processing of customsprocedures.

The office also extended the working hour to 10pm to supportimport-export enterprises.-VNA
