HCM City (VNA) - Agricultural products fromten southern and Mekong Delta cities and provinces are being introduced for thefirst time in 30 stores at Big C An Lac in HCM City.
The three-day fair, which opened on July 3, alsofeatures trade promotion activities and opportunities for links to beestablished between co-operatives.
Hoang Van Du, Deputy Director of the Trade PromotionCentre for Agriculture, said it will coordinate with relevant units to organiseseven fairs of this kind in cities and provinces nationwide this year.
The fairs aim to promote organic farming production,food safety and hygiene, and local specialties.
Pierre Bertholat, CEO of Central Food Retail Vietnam,said Central Retail, which has played a role in organising the fair, is readyto help farming households, cooperatives, and small and medium-sizedenterprises integrate into the modern distribution systems, develop the market,and build their brand names./.
Several large supermarket chains have pledged to support the consumption of lychees as the fruit enters the harvest season in the northern provinces of Bac Giang and Hai Duong, the two biggest growers of the fruit in the country.
